The Princess Bride: A Review

ThePrincessBrideDirected By: Rob Reiner
Starring: Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin,
Andre The Giant
Status: Released

In this Enchanted fairytale, Buttercup and Westley must overcome inconceivable odds to find happiness. Filled with a glorious mix of six fingered men, orcs, hideous monsters and amazing swordsmanship this film does not disappoint. The Princess Bride is ultimately a story of love. Of A Grandfather’s love for his grandson, of Inigo Montoya’s love for his deceased father and between Buttercup and Westley. It’s a traditional fairytale by most sense but it’s wit and humour stand it apart from convention. The characters are essential to the story and the pace of the film changes beautifully throughout and the script is a joy. I watch this from time to time because it reminds us of the goodness within all of us and the ability to triumph in the face of adversity.
